Works fine. For me it seems to work if I clamp the front edge at a line the equivalent of the thickness of the wood back from the edge. The throat might be a little short as I seem to get misaligned sometimes and the edge of the drill bit cuts into / catches on the metal in the jig body. So far I have only done thick wood (1.5 inches) and the largest drill bit. Worth it for me compared to the cost of better more expensive jigs as I only do a few holes.
