Q: can anyone please tell me if this antenna will increase range?

Asked by DannyThomson on 2022-02-10 06:00:10

Daithi In comparison to the standard 'rubber duck', yes it will. However, any gain in a built up area will be minimal but this is due to attenuation caused by buildings, power lines, etc. Gain would be noticable in a rural setting

Daithi It's not a problem with the machine per se but what I would recommend is that you attach it (lightly glue the feet) to a piece of plasterboard (dry wall to the US) so that it doesn't move around while in use. Again, attaching the work piece with either double sided tape or blu-tak will help to prevent any accidental movement during the burn process

Daithi Sdrsharp from airspy dot com works fine for me If you want to monitor data on the ham bands, you need an app like fldigi which will decode the signals such as Morse Code, PSK, PACTOR, and a lot more

Daithi Yes to both with the caveat that you will probably have to go over the MDF a few times. Just make sure it stays in place during and between passes of the laser (stick it down with double sided tape, blu-tack or anything that will stop it moving)

Daithi It depends on the material. From the manual, do NOT cut Polycarbonate, PVC, Polystyrene, Polypropylene, ABS or HDPE. The manual can be obtained from the sculpfun website under support

Q: Possible.to get trunked(encrypted) police Channels?

Asked by Beedub0rs on 2018-09-17 01:56:09

Daithi It can probably receive them, but not decode them (and, if they are on a system similar to here, they hop frequencies under computer synchronisation so you may get one word in 10)
