I did some range testing comparing it with a D4R-II receiver, and RSSI values are almost comparable. Its a little worse, but not by much. Under good conditions with line of sight, Im inclined to believe it will actually do 1Km. However, at short range, its a disaster. Within 3-4 meter you will constantly get "telemetry lost/telemetry recovered" although the receiver will still work. Within ~2 meter, connection will regularly fail. Range is not bad and telemetry only supports RSSI. Get a XM+ if you need smaller size and better range. XM+ also supports 16 channels.

I have managed to fly 1270m away with this receiver, 5dBi antenna on a FrSky DHT transmitter and RTH capable quadcopter before the connection started to fail. Safe range without RTH failsafe or with worse antenna orientation will be less, but still not bad. For the price, it is a good receiver.
