It might sound odd, but I actually bought this to use as a leader for leather work, thonging and whip making, including with para cord. They are absolutely perfect for that since the jaws can be used to clamp the thong or it can be fed through one of the holes in the handle and then used to lead through larger knot work. Since it is larger than a standard leader it fills a gap previously difficult to cover; a decent size not so fiddly as normal. Thanks chaps, most appreciated!

It is somehow difficult to close the clamp and it holds not well. The optics is fine, but the function not really satisfying. I have a feeling that due to the difficult closing, the screw thread may get worn away with the time.
