This device works well as a power converter. Warning: Be carefull if You use a high current battery (Like a Lead-Acid) as the input source. The device will drag a large current when its output is disconnected and destroy itself. Either disconnect the source input battery first or use a resetable fuse rated 1A above the output (between the input battery and the device). If You use a sw-mode supply as the input source, the control circuit againt short and spikes will apparanetly prevent a self-destroy of the device.. I speak by expperience ;)
