BG173292364 A Makita battery can be purchased at most or all Home Depot stores in USA. Lowe’s may also sell Makita. Some Ace or True Value hardware stores are dealers for Makita. Amazon is the most likely, don’t bother with the batteries under 3aH power size, unless you only plan for very short jobs. Also, you’ll need a fast charge charger. I’d highly recommend getting two matching batteries.

BG173292364 Any new Makita with the squarish form factor. Baring in mind there are currently two styles, the 18volt is the correct physical size to fit. The smaller version, I believe, 12-14V, does NOT fit. Old tubular styles are obsolete and aren’t available anyway. For this tool don’t bother with the smaller AMP-HOUR sizes, ie 2aH, unless you have very small jobs. Even a 3ah may be too limited.
