I have been playing with options to control playback of predefined messages under MCU control. My basic goal is the polar opposite of a watch-dog timer. Rather than an automatic reset if the software encounters an unrecoverable error, I want the software to lock up and give some sort of error indication. I usually use an SD card to record a message and a flashing "Fault" LED to draw attention to it. My aim is to supplement the flashing led with an audible message. I struggled a bit with this module. I'm sure it could be made to work, but it all got too hard and I put my energy into other options. At this point, I am thus unable to recommend it.
