The manufacture of the product (I have the 3-mode version) is good. For me the most important drawback is, that most times when switching ON/OFF the mode is changed, too. But not always. Usually the mode should not change, this is very annoying. I'm glad that I didn't buy the 7-mode version! I measured the light with a professional UV-VIS spectrometer at the university and I attached the plots. You can see that the quality of the light depends on the power. Just with 5% I get light around 365-370nm. With more power the fist peak moves to the right and more visible light (>380nm) is emitted. Overall with 30% there is better UV light than with 100%. For geocaching both modes make sense: With 30% I get very good (for that price) UV light and with 100% I get a combination of UV and blue visible light, which I can use if I'm moving around. I measured the power consumption: ~11,5mA@”5%”, ~41mA@”30%”, ~125mA@”100%”. At 100% the flashlight gets warm, too. I suppose 100% is a little to much for the LED, this maybe will influence the lifetime. In summery this flashlight has good Value for Price and it is very useful for night geocaching. Just the switch is poorly. I attached two images from my last night cache. One with normal flashlight and one with this one. Shipping was little slow (22 days to Germany) and “free shipping” is without tracking. Fortunately it was no registered mail.

Hasta ahora de las mejoras linternas UV que he probado. La calidad de Convoy es muy buena y el acabado también en tono gris. No incluye juntas tóricas de repuesto (o-rings) y debería. Por lo demás, bien.

As mentioned in other reviews, this light does put out a significant amount of white light. This does not seem to hamper operation though. Not sure of the wavelength, but it does fluoresce items that cheap 'purple' UV lights do not. Conversely it also fluoresce less with other items than other cheap lights. The UV is also totally blocked by regular reading glasses, whereas the other lights are not. This seems to indicate that the UV is of a different wavelength than other cheap units, which should be good thing. Other than that, regular great Convoy quality!

Well built as all Convoy products, but definitely too much white light than UV. I would like to add a wood filter to eliminate the white.

Compact, quality materials, up to 7 power levels, carrying stripe...very good product at an affordable price. Apart from the possible uses mentioned, I use it to cure UV adhesives.

Da tanta luz blanca como una linterna normal, apenas se aprecia las superficies a comprobar.Mi clon SK-68 UV 395nm ilumina más que éste modelo.Lo único bueno que tiene es que es una Convoy S2.Si buscamos una mejor, Convoy S2+ UV Nichia.
