pqmain Huh? You should ALWAYS control the current through diodes (using a resistor or constant current supply). Please don't give a poor reviews to products just because you don't know how to use them.

The light and the metal plate should be fixed to a hard surface, allowing the battery unit to be easily removed for charging and secured in place during use. The magnets are only there to hold the battery unit onto the metal bracket, and to pull the battery unit towards the light to make electrical contact. It works well, when used as designed. We use one of these portably, too, by fixing the light and metal bracket to a wooden ruler - works perfectly!
