Sauli Yes, that was true for me too. I bought pliers looking exactly the same from ebay and the horse shoe gap in the smaller jaw was bigger than the ball diameter (4.75mm) making the pliers useless for attaching the link to the ball. Detaching works fine though. The error in the gap size was much bigger than what can be expected as a normal tolerance even from a medium quality manufacturing process. Maybe a bad batch from the factory.
