Excellent fish finder. I bought a Bottom Line sonar unit back in 1992 - pictured on the left. It has a low resolution dot pixel display with a minimum resolution of 6" (150mm). Very basic. This year I bought a simple fish finder with a simple display. Pictured in the middle. It switches fixed icons on and off, giving a simplified display of what it determines to be bottom structure and possible fish. Simple, but not providing the detail that I needed to see into my local creek. Both of these units have a wired transducer. Trying to float a transducer away from the shore is not easy. Cutting rings from a pool noodle float helped float the wire, but it is still very clumsy and limited in range. Finally, I decided that a wireless transducer unit was the answer, from Banggood. It is brilliant. The transducer weighs 70 grams and is castable with a stiff fishing rod. The screen is a fine resolution, 4 greyscale display. It shows the bottom structures very well. Fish are detected (sonar uses the relative density of the return to determine if the object is a fish); they are shown using 3 different sizes of fish symbol. It works very well on the small baitfish of about 2"... larger fish that have been detected are yet to be caught. Very satisfied with this Fish Finder (made by PhiRadar)
