upgraded to beta flight with no worries and with some tuning seems to be a solid little performer
DOWNSIDES
the receiver is powered through the Flight controller and as soon as the power drops below 4 volts it browns out
so on low c rating batteries with the voltage sag it is impossible to even take off.
this was easily rectified by cutting the + pin and taking power directly of the battery connection point.
also the prop guard is extremely brittle and breaks quickly so I just printed my own seems to work well.
All in all a great little quad after a little fiddling about, I have noticed the release of the upgraded brushless version I hope these little issues have been corrected with it .
if so it could be a really great micro fpv quad
Oleh 02/10/2016This micro quad uses a Superior Hobby SRP8 FRSky Rx that browns out VERY frequently due to insufficient voltage. The SRP8 has a minimum operating voltage of 5V but this quad runs off a 1S LIPO. Additionally, I noticed that the middle voltage pin powering the Rx board had only about 3.5 volts on it, even when the LIPO was fully charged. So I unsoldered the center V+ Rx pin to break it's connection to the flight controller and then ran a wire from it directly to the LIPO red wire power. Now it works
