I had very low expectations for this product when I ordered it, and I'm now more than impressed. Construction feels solid enough to survive a good ruck hump through the mountain scrub. The hardware is plastic but it feels solid. The elastic is firm, but that's good, you don't want it bottoming out every step you take. The strap is in the goldielocks zone: Just thick enough to distribute weight, just thin enough not to cut your neck. Not that it would, the strap is actually rather soft seat-belt like material which gives it some firmness. Only negative is that I'm a shorter person and it hangs quite low. Would not suggest for persons under 5' 5" or exceptionally long rifles
