These are very good strip lights, especially for the price. I have bought 30 rolls of the cold white version (150m total length), and almost every roll was perfect. A few rolls had sections that didn't light up, but re-flowing a few solder joints fixed that. I bought these 30 rolls in 4 different orders over the course of 2 months, and they are all virtually identical in terms of brightness, colour, power consumption, and overall build. In other words, the consistency between batches is excellent. I like the cool white colour. It is slightly cooler than daylight. The adhesive on the back side is pretty good, but not great. If you have a clean, smooth, non-porous surface then it should adhere reasonably well. Even with ideal conditions, though, you might have some parts come off over time. Adhesion to non-smooth or porous surfaces isn't great.. BangGood says in the description that these strip lights consume 30W per 5m roll. That's not entirely true: it can be up to about 70W if powered correctly. If you power them from a 12.0V source, with the power supply connected to only one end of the 5m roll, then yes it will consume 30W. However, with that arrangement the end of the roll furthest from the power supply connection will be noticeably dimmer. This is because the power lines running along the strip are fairly thin, so they experience fairly high voltage drop. To fix this issue, you could attach the power supply to both ends of the strip lights: doing this will result in about 45W of power consumption, much less dimming over the length of the strip, and more light output. To get even more power output/brightness, power it from even more spots along the strip. Or, cut the strip into shorter sections. For example, if you cut it into 4 equal 1.25m sections, and power each from one end, you'll get about 60W power consumption. Powering from more than 4 points will get slightly higher power consumption (and thus brightness), but the absolute max output is about 70W.

toplec Iopened the charger and disabled the fan by cutting its wires. The fan is definitely an after-thought in the design: based on how it's mounted and where it gets power from, it was definitely added after the charger was originally designed. From what I've read online, it was added after people were finding that their chargers were burning out. In my case, I rarely charge more than 2 batteries at a time, so there is almost no chance of burning it out with the fan disabled. When I charge 4 batteries, I'll just make sure to keep the charging current low. I find that this is much better than having to hear the horrible fan noise.

toplec The illumination is provided by a neon bulb, not an LED. The two silver pins are the switched pins (attach your load across these), and to light up the neon indicator light, apply 120V - 240V between the gold pin and either of the silver pins. Neon bulbs are not polarized, so it doesn't matter which side is hot. Note that the switch is internally a DPST switch because it doesn't matter which silver pin you use for powering the neon bulb.
