I can see I bought this when at a great price but even so if you are used to 'ordinary' torches running off alkaline batteries, even Cree LED ones, this is in a different league as the Li cells can deliver much higher currents and support a very high light output. It will run for ages at a reasonable light output and does illuminate a nice area of ground to see where you are going i.e. good everyday torch. But turn the wick up and the range is stunning - just don't abuse it as it is dangerously bright! The built in charger is a great feature for the casual torch owner as opposed to the torch-geek!
