Q: Does anyone know if these can be run laying on their side? I've got a couple of air vents in the wall of my little brick built workshop, and I could easily make a wall mount for one of these with the exhaust sticking straight through that, but it would be safer if the hot exhaust pipe went straight out horizontally rather than looping around below the unit and then out.

It's not a light frame, Or notably stiff...... But just look at it, It's fri66in' adorable !!!! :) I built it up the day it arived. You'll need a Runcam Micro sized camera to go in the front as there's only 19mm between the side mounts. It'll take a 30.5 or 20mm stack, But headroom's a bit limited at 25mm between frame plates. With a micro VTX at the back, a 4 in 1 ESC and a small RX it's an easy build. I opted for an underslung battery on mine because the upswept blade tips on the iFlight Nazgul T3061's I'm using would get a bit too close to a top mounted battery for my liking. I've added a couple photos of the frame (Plus motors and props) fo scale. Ones next to my 220 Martian, And the other's with a full sized GoPro-A-like sitting on top, The others are of it finished (Without an FPV camera so far) with Racerstar BR1407 3500KV motors, A Racerstar 20A 4 in 1 ESC (Yeah, I know, It's a bit overkill for this, But I had it handy) an F3 omnibus FC, an Eachine VTX03, And a FlySky X6B RX. I've got one of the Eachine SpeedyBee CCD FPV cameras on the way to me for this to. I've also fitted one of the Realacc battery protection boards as I spend a few quid on Li-Po's and would rather not belly flop them into the ground without protection in an abrupt landing. As I said at the start, It's not a particularly stiff or light frame (The LT130 is probabbly a little better in both regards), But the finished quad is comically cute, and a fun addition to my Martian collection.

Q: Does anyone think these would be OK to run on 3s with 7" props? With their lower KV I'm wondering if these could possibly be usable as cheap motors for a larger (But still reasonably light) framed build.

I managed to grind down one of the "Pivot center pins" to make this fit my chuck, But my guess is that this is more for an industrial setting. I only bought this because I have a mystery chuck on one of my drills and couldn't be bothered to try to work out what size replacment key I needed. After the tweaking it's working fine though.

This isn't particularly bad vice, But it's definitely made to a price. I needed to remove casting flashing from several places before it would sit flat on my pillar drill (Less than a minutes work with a Dremel), But now that's done it works well. It's distinctly "Light duty", But that was expected at this price point. If you need a cheap vice for a hobby or "Jewelers" pillar drill then this could be a contender

Quite a nice set. A good selection of pin counts and spacings. A bit thick for some locks, but still worth having for the times you CAN use them to quickly bypass the locks with less restrictive keyways.

My set arrived with more than half of the pick blades slightly bent or curved. Some of the blades have smears of a black tar like substance on them, and when straightening the blades out they felt a bit too "Pliable" for my liking (rather than springy). That said, It's not a ridiculously bad starter set. With the addition of a few comb picks it would make a reasonable set for a hobbyist to play with and work out which picks they use most, then buy better quality versions of those at a later date.

Not a bad set. There's a few other styles of pick I'd have liked to have seen included in the set (like maybe a couple more rake picks), but as a basic kit its not bad. The blades feel reasonably springy, so they're less likely to bend or break than others I've played with, and the quality seems pretty good. The sleeve grip bits were a bit of a pig to fit until I warmed them up a bit with a hairdryer.

Mine turned up with a fairly big chip out of the edge that extended about a 5th of the way down one side. It refracts sunlight all over the window sill it's sat on, So it's still quite a pretty effect, But it's a bit of a shame that it's got such a large chip out of it. :(

It's mostly made out of aluminium, Even the sliding dovetails are alloy (With a brass gib), So I doubt this is going to last forever, And it's design seems to have been thought out so as to make it by using the least amount of material as possible. It also uses normal screw threads on the lead screws rather than acme threads ............ BUT, if you understand that you're not going to turn a flimsy little 100080 mini drill press into a high precision baby manual milling machine with this It's actually quite a useful little accessory. It's really handy on a drill press for small projects that need reasonably precisely groups of holes drilling. You can clamp the workpiece down and use the dials on the handles to move the work the required distance to the next hole (As long as you keep going the same direction. Mine has about half a turn of backlash). it saves a fare bit of time marking out before hand. The gibs can easily be tightened up until the beds unmovable, but if you're careful you can pinch them up just enough that it's still pretty free moving, but has next to no play in it. It may have been built to a budget, But that doesn't necessarily mean it's been built badly. I'm pretty blown away by it's value. I think with a few tweeks it could possibly even be used with my large angle block as a poor man's milling slide on my lathe.

Less thrust than the 6045 bullnose triblade props I usually use, But a LOT more flight duration, And really quiet too..

This is probably going to sound stupid, But I only bought this because ages back I accidentally ordered a load of 75mm blades and wanted something I could use them on. :) As a bonus, it flies really well for a larger brushed quad, And can really hustle about when you want it to. For the pr ice I wasn't really expecting these to be up to much (I've seen DIY bare 18650 torch body's that co st more than these !)......... But I'm VERY pleasantly surprised ! The machining feels reasonably good and both of the ones I've bought work as expected. Light output is easily good enough for spotting my dogs when they're hiding right down the garden, And being zoomable as well as micro USB chargeable makes them very a very convenient torch to own. Being able to charge them from a phone charger also means they would be useful as an emergency torch to put in the cars glovebox. So far they seem well worth the mo ney.
