When the rope has been in the sun for the whole day is gives some light back in the beginning of the evening. Before it's dark completely it glows not anymore. When it is dark and you put a flashlight very close to the rope it wit glow for 10 minutes on the spot where the flashlight was. So I think it's useless because it glows too short to be useful.
