chocksaway I assure you the "CLOCK" does a lot more than just one thing. Yes there's programming involved and it's surprising just how much can be crammed into some of the IC's. Look at the various modes just the tiny LEDs have. I can't recall just how many there are buy quite a few. Then there's the alarms and text which can wish you merry Christmas or your family members Happy Birthday. Then there's the automatic switching between functions, time, temperature and so on. No it does more than just one job, perhaps you should buy one and see for yourself.
