I was able to use a pair of modules in transparent mode with the default configuration. The test consisted of sending "HELLO" once every second, and quite often the last "O" never gets through. Besides that, setting low the pin SET seems to make the module enter AT command mode as expected, but it replies "ERROR" to every single character received. Mind you, it's not that you type "AT" then hit enter and then it replies "ERROR", it replies ERROR as soon as you type the "A".
