adrenochromie yes, it's because it's a non-lead solder! notice that it's almost only 5 star reviews? I gave it a 1 star, so did my friend and others. Its a mismarked product. You can try with A LOT higher temperature to get a proper shiny joint.
adrenochromie Tohonor the actual inventor of this product, you should buy it from him. Its not hard to find it if you are buying electronics online you know where to look. If only there chinese counterfeiters would give credit for the inventions they steal and sell for profit (this case from a proper HAM) it would atleast be a little different.

adrenochromie No, it doesn't show signal strength, it also requires a proper signal to work, you need some kind of RDF receiver (radio direction finding) but I'm not sure at that frequency since every remote controlled power outlet and untold number of things, like car keys, car ports etc might be using this unlicensed frequency. finding yours might be very hard
