I mainly use this lantern on my 3D printer. Thanks to the magnetic base, I can fix it on the steel frame to see if everything is fine during printing. The high CRI is helpful too, because it allows me to see each detail and color. The red light can be useful in a car in emergency situation, thanks to the blinking mode and SOS mode. The red light is also useful in hunting. The 3 leves of white light are well spaced, and the diffusion of the light is soft and cosy. The UI is simple : From off : one short click to see the battery level (blue indicator) one longer click to power white light double click for red mode From on : short click to cycle through levels/modes longer click to shut off.

Small, nice tint, useful, and versatile, with excellent battery life. Red light comes in handy. Compared with AA lanterns, this just works far longer. Magnets work well.

Simple interface, looks good, build quality is fine, plastic quality is OK. It is smaller than I expected. I have one Panasonic protected button top battery (70mm long) and is does not fit in the light. If it is not button top, it would probably fit. So count that max battery length is ~68-69 mm. It would be great if it had micro USB to charge the battery.

love: - colour - tint / diffusion - uses 18650 - magnetic base! - love the way nitecore does voltage checks - overall very good package would change: - not much.. bit cheaper i guess
