It wasn't in a bomb proof package but it didn't have any problem, so I don't mind. I just tried it clamps just fine.

Not in a hard case package, but I think it was good enough. No damage on the clamps. The clamp seems to be a good quality product. I have only one issue with it. It cannot be moved lower or upper on the rod as mentioned in the description. Actually I do not want to that, but based on description it should be able to do so. Moreover with that very large knob (which is totally useless) it requires more space when stored. I think I will replace that with a simple screw.
