Unit has good basic functionality, sound quality and is noise free. Output volume is sufficient to drive a main amplifier (without a pre-amp) requiring approximately one volt input from either the RCA output jacks or the headphone jack. The max output volume from either seems similar, but did not measure. The volume knob only controls the headphon e jack's output and not the RCA jack. Have not tested the digital output yet. Pairing was difficult initially with one of my tablets after pairing with my Android phone which had been disconnected, but not un-paired. After several attempts involving "un-pairing" and then re-pairing, the unit eventually was able to "remember" 3 pairings with different devices, but only connect to one at a time. Uninterrupted range is about 10-15 m; beyond that or with interfering objects, dropouts in the signal become frequent. The range is not indicated in the specifications, so took a chance purchasing. However, my requirements are short range, 5 - 10m, so OK for my needs. Build quality is a solid metal housing, with good quality (not deluxe) connectors, amazingly compact, and has a bit of weight to it when handled. Battery life has not been verified, but expected to be reasonable, otherwise, I'll report back. Unit comes with micro-usb cable, an international adapter of sorts, but no charger, although any common mobile phone charger will do. There is no instruction manual, so the user must understand/learn the basics of how Bluetooth, pairing, etc. works. Some nice to haves would have been: 1) For increased versatility, a separate input jack for non-Bluetooth mp3 devices that require boost for headphones 2) A basic tone control for bass-boost, as is common with other headphone amplifiers (mostly non-Bluetooth). Recommended as a buy for someone looking for headphone amp + "Bluetooth pre-amp" for driving a main amp, as such it is more than just a basic Bluetooth receiver, but priced accordingly, as very basic units can be had for less than half the price of this unit
