OzarkChris Really depends on the type of wood and power of the laser module. Balsa (or equiv) I believe they state in description for a 5W unit is 2mm. I don't use Balsa, I typically only use cardstock or light weight cardboard. I only use the laser module on "real" wood for "engraving"
