sweet case. tight fit. the flanges fit a 75x75 vesa mounting grid and can be left off. the fan is designed to run of 5v from the header but does create a high whine; and it also works of the 3.3v which reduces the speed and whine. can also leave it out as well, of course. the sd card gets to be very tight in and out, so some tweezers on hand will save your fingernails...

These are great little magnifying lights. The lights are adequate, and not as bright as I’d really like them and they do work and help. The color tone adjustment is a bit of a gimmick - not sure if I’d ever put them in warm mode for any work I’d need. The biggest let-down is the arm sections are much shorter than I imagined. There is a sort of standard dimension for such articulated angle lamps, and these are about 4” shorter per section, so the overall reach is 8” less than standard. It means they need to stretch out to cover a workspace, which in turn makes them lower to the work surface. As long as you have a compact bench or table you use these on, no problem. On my 2’x 4’ worktable they only cover about a third of the area when mounted on a corner. even on the middle of the long side, they’d only reach about half. So, best summed up as an adequate, sub-compact articulated illuminating magnifying lens.

just as expected. robust, functional. not audiophile hifi connector quality but for general purpose signal wire connections or low voltage power connecting, perfectly adequate.

is not RF Control like description states. and. as an IR Control, it is pretty picky for line of sight. Once powered and oriented right, it does function. but useless for my application as the strip, battery box and controller are going inside a lamp shade. no line of sight for the IR, so no control.

ordered 2, can see a few applications. excited to try them for real. even though the packages arrived intact and not crushed or damaged, in one package one of the probes was bent. this made that channel display an error. bending it more straight had it start to work.

I got a couple of these to try out, and when testing one, it worked up to the point I inadvertently shorted the output of the module. thereafter, it will pass current, but not control it with the remote. Clearly my mistake, and I made darn sure the alligator clips I used when testing the next one were well separated and secured. but a little disappointing - it amounts to user beware - exceeding the current rating will fry the controller. I did discover that the remotes are agnostic as to which unit they control - that is, when powering on the second one, it was immediately controllable by the remote of the first. As did the second remote. So now I have two remotes for the one controller. I am ok about that, and will try another kind of these to see if I can’t get them to operate independently.

seemed to do the trick when first powered up, accurate values displayed confirmed by my other test instruments. instructions for setting the current limit were a little confusing, but in the end makes sense - just give it a go: basically, put it into current limiting mode (eg short the output) and dial in the current you want. I picked up some 3 ohm 230 watt ceramic resistors at a surplus store recently, so finally could test the supply into this predictable load. And sure enough, does exactly what it should. Even driving 10 amps into theses resistors in parallel it was quietly doing its thing, and only after a while did I hear the fan come on to cool the power supply. overall, very pleased - I bought capacity beyond what I really need, as I have experienced that vendors overstate actual performance of products, so a chunk of excess capacity is prudent, but in this case it managed to drive the current to the rated value without issue.

some reviews indicate this supply has a small pot to adjust voltage- mine does not. I tested it and got no load at 12.07v, and at 3.11A got 11.87v, 7.4A 11.80v, 10.3A 11.7v on average. I did use 2 different DMM’s and got different results, but close. it was interesting that as the load got hot and the unit got hot there was surprisingly little change. but the 0.3v droop at 10amp load was a little disappointing. on the other hand, it did drive 10amps and did a reasonable job, not getting hot or shutting down. had there been an adjustment it would have let me tweak it to perfection. as others have mentioned, there is a 3 second delay before output voltage appears.

the various modes work as described, just not as I initially expected them to. and once i deciphered the instruction manual, it proved a versatile little tool that helped me diagnose wiring faults in industrial equipment as well as checking out network and signal cables. glad I have this in my tool box, now.

Q: Is it really a wind generator controller? t mentions ‘Wind’ in the title, but nowhere in the description does it say what wind turbines are supported, or their wattage, wiring detail, etc

Q: Is this a current limiting supply?

MarkvdPol Max current is not the question. Question is - if I dial in 2.2 Amps, does it crowbar - that is, drop to zeo volts, if more current is demanded? Does it limit the current to 2.2 Amps, in other words. I am interested in this answer as well.

read the various forums on how to assemble it and enhance it and it will be a pleasure to construct the kit. I altered the way the rotary encoder is attached doing away with the extra carrier PCB instead directly soldering the rotary encoder to the board. It is a little tricky to get just right and at the correct height but it gives me the space to add an internal battery later. I also cut the traces to one side of the dpdt slide switch before assembly so I can utilize that otherwise redundant half for that battery circuit in the future as well. calibration instructions for the vari-caps were confusing and I went through the process several times until I discovered out how it actually worked. One thing I wish I had paid more attention to was making sure the push buttons were fully seated and square before soldering - some ended up slight proud slightly skew and aesthetically it irks me to see this slight variance in the row. but functionally it works perfectly.
