Nokota Silver I have not had that experience and I have had and mastered many, many ocarinas. Often notes do not come out properly because a novice is not covering one or more of the holes correctly and doesn't realize this. If this is your first attempt at playing an ocarina, please specify, because folks without any prior musical training won't be able to learn this instrument on their own. As I said in my review, it is breath sensitive.
