Actually very bright - surprising given they claim to be 5W. Approx the same as the 60W halogens they replace. Warm white are slightly whiter than the halogens, pure white are a must different colour. Because the lights are such low wattage they glow without the power being on - I suspect that is inductance in the cables (may be different in different houses). Enough of a glow to be a night light - which is great for me! They slightly flicker - almost imperceptible to the naked eye, but the camera doesn't like it.
