I got three of these from Banggood for a gardening project and they were super easy to use. Just need to attach VCC to 5V, ground to ground, and A0 to analog input on Arduino and you're good to go. Just remember that a reading of 1023 means that the soil is completely DRY. Lower numbers indicate MORE moisture. Build quality on these were excellent and came with the pictured cables with female connector pins.

Solid product quality, a bit rough around the edges, nothing a file couldn't fix. There is the recommendation to only activate the sensor when you read from it, otherwise the current will corrode the metal stripes.
