I hadn't unwound the things and I was already disappointed. The pictures show three strands of copper wire going the whole length, to ensure that all the LEDs in the string get the same current, and so display the same brightness. These don't, of course. (see one of the pictures) The current-limiting resistor on the end of the wire also got quite warm to the touch even after only a minute's use for testing. The lights are adequate, I suppose, but not as good as advertised. The RGB ones are static colours.

Great light. I use it wrapped around a canvas on my wall. It creates a nice ambient light!
