Received in good condition and in a timely manner. Haven't tried anything with this kit yet but have built a similar one in the past. I would recommend omitting the speaker as the music becomes annoying after a short period of time. Do not install the jumper. Tree produces a nice effect but should have been shipped with a 3 AA battery holder.

This tree kit is a huge mistake! The synthetic, repeating music it plays (Fur Elise), is the most annoying shrill tune I have ever heard. It will quickly drive anyone crazy; thank goodness it can be disabled by removing a jumper. I had thought this kit was similar to other tree kits offered in the past, however, the battery holder has been omitted. This is most distressing since it would allow the owner to make this kit portable. It looks like someone removed them from the kits, since the mounting screws for the battery holder are still included. If you were unlucky enough to order this kit, omit the jumper and try to find 3AA battery holders for them. The tree itself is nice but the music option is a waste; the lack of battery option diminishes this kit's functionality.
