This is really quite tiny, amazingly tiny! I have tested one of these for over a hour, dropping 15v to 12.5v at 1amp. The tiny IC had a temperature rise of about 55 degrees celsius and remained steady at that temperature for the period of the test. So at 25 C ambient it would be running at about 80 C. Not sure how it would perform at different voltage drops and different current draws.

I'll be using one of these to float charge a LiPo pouch cell at 3.85v to feed a 2.6 to 5.5v in/12v out boost converter to power an OCXO and another buck converter to supply 5.3v to the logic circuitry in my Mark 3 GPSDO.
