The LEDs are bright and the variety of patterns is interesting. However, the 360 degree full-wheel images as shown in the product illustrations are possible only when the wheel is spinning quickly. You have to be riding darned fast for the Persistence of Vision effect to work. Also, reversing the mounting direction may improve performance. One odd thing is that one of the patterns seems to be "Off". I thought the unit had failed but the lights resumed after a few seconds. Not nearly as impressive as the Photoshopped illustrations (they're shown on a static bike!) but acceptable for the price. I'm suspicious of that plastic nut and will probably fasten the unit with a zip tie or two.
