Horsefly Yes but only if you transmit on the ham band it is fine to listen :) For this radio do not transmit on VHF called 2 meters (2 m for short) 144.000 MHz – 148.000 MHz & UHF 420 mhz to 450 MHz called 70cm (short for 70-centimeter) http://www.arrl.org/band-plan
