BG126111619 The official answer here is somewhat unhelpful since the photograph of the cable clearly has the official USB Implementer's Forum logo prominently visible at both ends! I guess they mean the USB cable is used for charging only, no communications. Looks like USB type C (at the device end) in the photo.

سؤال: Can you put two in series to double voltage to 120V?

السؤال بواسطة BG541311434 على 2021-10-12 08:04:02

BG126111619 No. The black terminal is connected directly to the negative input terminal so if you connect both to the same power source and then connect the black (negative) terminal of one to the red (positive) terminal of the other to make the output voltages add, one of the power supplies will be shorted out. However, if you can power the two units from different and isolated mains power supplies or batteries (but note that the output voltage cannot be higher than the input) then you could do this. Before switching on, take a test meter and make sure there is a high resistance between the black terminals of the two RD units.

سؤال: I have a 24V power supply, why can't I use it? Thanks

السؤال بواسطة Jerard2071 على 2020-12-12 05:53:06

BG126111619 If you are asking about using a 24V power supply as the input to the RD6006 unit, that is possible. But the RD6006 is buck only (voltage reducing) so the output will not be adjustable above about 22V (there is a small voltage loss).

BG126111619 The answer by undyah is incorrect. You can do this. Just to be sure I have put it on the bench set it to PD 20V and put a 1 amp electronic load on the downstream port. The unit is reading just over 20W while the load is reading just under (expected due to voltage drop in the cable). The unit acts as a PD device and conducts the necessary negotiation. RIDEN call this process 'triggering' and there is a special page in the UI for it. You first select the PD standard and then it lists the different voltages and currents offered by the PSU you are plugged into. Select one of these and it prompts you to unplug and re-plug the device. On powering up again it commands the PSU to deliver this voltage. This is an excellent device and superb value, but the UI can be a little tricky to figure out.

سؤال: Hi can I use the power supply to run a cordless black and decker pole saw ? Thanks

السؤال بواسطة Carl على 2020-11-01 10:20:22

BG126111619 Assuming your saw is designed for an 18V battery and the motor is rated at 8A or 480W or less, in principle yes. I have done this for battery drills and saws for bench operation. You might be better with a 24V fixed unit though. Generally these have a trimmer pot and can be adjusted down to maybe 19 or 20v which should be fine. But I would not recommend converting an outdoor tool to mains operation. The PSU needs to be indoor because it needs to be kept dry and well ventilated. That probably means a long 18V cable which will have to be very thick (the lower the voltage the thicker the cable needs to be for the same power, so it will be much thicker than the mains cable - about 14x the cross section area of copper or 4x the diameter).

سؤال: does this come with the serial bus decoding option (I2C/SPI/UART) and HDMI option?

السؤال بواسطة amirb على 2020-08-30 08:24:20

BG126111619 I do not think the answer above is correct. Just had one delivered and it has licences for CAN, LIN, UART, I2C and SPI pre-installed. It does NOT have the licences for 1553B or 429. These are the only add-ons which are offered but not pre-installed. Others that are pre-installed are Frequency Meter, Auto Range and High Low Pass.

BG126111619 Not from the vendor, but I just had one delivered (ordered from this listing, with battery - they mean this literally so I'd expect without battery to be the same, except mains only). It has an 'AppMarket' with licences. Pre-installed were Frequency Meter, Auto Range, High Low Pass, UART, LIN, SPI, CAN, I2C. Not installed were 1553B, 429. I've not yet tested with an actual signal, but the two 'S' channels are present and correct and can be selected to any of the seven protocols, however the installed ones give a display while 1553B and 429 do not. So I think the answer to your question is 'yes'!

سؤال: is possibile to know third dimension. only 2 are available in the picture

السؤال بواسطة tmirante على 2019-04-18 04:57:01

BG126111619 I have three of the 12V version (although I ordered this item' the 24V version!) I assume dimensions are the same and I measure the height at 27mm maximum.
