It is not a true 1/4" but a metric 6.5mm. It's loose on a Taylor truss rod nut. The metal quality is not very good. Seems to be a cheap alloy. It will work as long as the truss rod is not stiff. Any force and the oversize could cause slippage and strip metal from the shoulders of the nut.
