I bought this mainly to see if it was capable of supporting torches with tripod mounts, which it does very well. The plastic construction feels strong & sturdy and the rubber feet provide plenty of lateral grip. The amount of adjustment is very good and it neatly folds up in to a mono-grip with a positive click, it then can fold flat which makes it very compact.

It is very cheap plastic but it does the job. I use it to put small lights. Be careful to pay under 2.5euros
