Amazing prouct, just dip in the water and in 3 seconds you know if it's suitable for drinking. Normally a test like this requires you to take a sample to a lab and wait for it for a while and also costs more than this tester. Of course this will not tell you what your water contains but the TDS is a good indicator of the water's quality. I tried this on tap water, mineral spring water, bottled water and they all give the expected results. Noteworthy though that a very mineral heavy natural mineral water can give values that are beyond what is considered safe but are in fact fit for consumption so only normal/fresh water will give you reliable values regarding the water quality.
