At first: I can confirm that the delivered kit is the latest version 13803K with firmware 113-13801-050 which offers a lower signal noise. I have only some basic soldering skills and managed to finish the whole kit in about three ours and it was working correctly right from the start. Placing the switches was pretty fiddly and the ceramic caps could have been a bit more explicit but you get the idea when count them and check the printed numbers on them. The oscilloscope itself works as expected and offers a great value for its pretty low price. I am very happy with the purchase and can recommend this kit. Especially this version with the soldered SMD parts is perfect for beginners like me.

I am not very good at soldering so I got the kit with the SMD components pre-soldered and I am glad I did. There are 402 resistors and capacitor on the board. I don't know how I would have solder them. The thru the hole components were challenge enough. The hardest components to place were the switches. Getting the pins to align was a problem. I also had difficulty reading the part #s on the transistors. Lot's of light and a magnifying glass helped. Once I got jumpers soldered in, the device booted and worked as expected. I am now a better solderer. Highly recommended My only complaint is that the price was dropped by ~ $1.50 AFTER I ordered, so it is an even better deal today.

Tolles Kit!

I have wanted an oscilloscope for a long time but as a hobby I just could not justify the expense. After reading some reviews on the internet and watching a few Youtube videos I thought that I couldn’t pass up this kit. The silk screen on the PCB was excellent, with all components labelled for ease reference. The instruction manual is very clear and easy to follow, with a full schematic and troubleshooting guide with voltages for test points. After calibrating the probe and I had a nice square-wave from the test signal. I also used a microcontroller to generate a square-wave to check it out. Over all I think this is a great kit especially for the price. The only complaint I have would be the shipping. 30 days is a long time for air mail.

This kit is a great way to practice your soldering skills and get a new tool while your at it. While it is in no way a professional oscilloscope it certainly is good enough to display wave forms and help to debug circuits. Make sure you have a multimeter as you need to check voltages after you've put everything together. I realized i wasn't getting the correct voltage on AV- and managed to track down the problem to the voltage regulator. Turns out I accidentally swapped the 7805 with the 7905. So make sure you read the part numbers carefully and double check before you solder! In terms of functionality it has all the basic functions you'd expect. rising/falling edge triggering, single shot mode, AC and DC coupling and the instructions are clear and easy to understand.

Great kit! It’s a ton of fun together and great soldering practice. The oscilloscope is good for beginner use, but personally it suits me perfectly. Would recommend if you need a cheap oscilloscope for PWM or other basic frequency monitoring, or even if you just want a fun kit to solder

This is a very nice kit, I am very pleased by this oscilloscope. The PCB, the components, the cables and the brief instruction sheet are of good quality. I was also impressed by a few functions that I was not expecting on such a small scope, like the frequency meter (see the picture) or the adjustable trigger.

I started soldering at 200° (unfortunately the solder coat on the pads didn't melt at this temperature.) this gave me an awfull result. I ended up soldering at the maximum of my soldering station . At this high temperature the solder on the pads melted and fused with the new solder. In the end the, result came out acceptable but not perfect. So please, be advised. Solder hot. As for the finished product. I't a, nice gimmick it, works for simple testing of circuits. Don't expect to get 250$ results out of it and you'll be, satisfied.

Very good mini oscilloscope. The only thing you have to pay attention is soldering of the lcd display. On first power on, the screen was white. I read the manual and enter the test mode. I realize that one pin was "open". And now everything works perfect.

The SMD soldered version is not hard to build as long as you have some basic soldering experience, no need to be a pro. Now, on mine, once built, the screen was white and after checking all the negative voltages were wrong. The LED did not blink when pressing reset. By chance, i've felt on a youtube video from a guy with the same problem => Short JP4 and voila, the board is up and running.
