initial thoughts on this soldering station are overall good but there are a few things that could be better thought out. On the positive side it seems to be well built and looks a quality product, it heats up very quickly and performs as well as any other soldering iron Ive had. I like the large display showing the temperature clearly, the preset temp buttons and the spare tip storage and removal features are a great idea. some of the less positive aspects are: - Size, the baxse unit is quite large using up more space than my old iron but thats the price to pay for the screen I suppose - I dont like the position of the on/off switch on the rear of the baxse, its tricky to get to and if you have spare tips in the baxse unit they can stick in you as you reach round the back. - The cable support arm only locates on the right side of the handle cradle, it should be able to go on either side - The status LEDs on the front of the baxse unit seem to be a needless gimmick, they just annoy me and I might see if I can disconnect them Overall I feel its a good purchase but I think more thought to ergonomics could be given to improve it even more.
